We here at ROR have decided to bring you a special treat for the month of December. Each of us that have gone to Rwanda were touched by the experienced. Perspectives were changed, eyes were opened and friendships were formed. There is a special bond we all share. This December, as you are perhaps digging into some essays or take-home exams, or holiday baking, we’d like to share some of the reasons why we think it is worth your while to apply to Reflections on Rwanda.
Throughout (what is left of) the month we’ll be posting memories and testimonials on the website. They can be long, short, funny, sad – we’ll try to keep you on your toes!

“My memory is sitting on the shores of lake Kivu with the folks from the program. It was a beautiful and quiet day and some of us ended up having an intense discussion about the Congo and the history and politics around the area. Then we all became silent and listened to the cadence of the rowers and the breeze coming off the lake. Occasionally a cargo plane would be heard on its way to Goma. So much hit me during that time, seeing the Congo across the lake for the first time, being in a place that exists no where else, a place with remarkable history and incredible beauty which compliment each other. It made me aware of why I will always be drawn there as the emotions can be intense, but this puts one more in touch with life in a way few other things do.”
